The Beast Gauntlet
Beast Gauntlet is my first multiplayer map that can be used for the game Quake. The goal of this map is to eliminate the other player either in a team deathmatch forte or in a free-for-all match while trying to challenge the players' skill in close courter combat. The theme of this level is to fight inside a monster arena to fight to the death. The reason I chose this was because of the_ call of duty_ map NukeTown which inspired me in its symmetrical style and close courter combat, I wanted to create a map that is similar to it but plays by a different set, like adding lava and traps to the game to bring a more diverse set of traps. I thought a lot about how to create a level that brings players in and wants to play the map multiple times and not just once.

In the idea, I wanted something similar to the map of nuke town in Call of duty, having the option of respawning in different areas and having a type of symmetry with the level that brings players to search around the battlefield for danger, some aspects of this level changed when designing the actual map and playtesting it as well.
